2010 - Mar - Collaboration with Northwick Park specialised rehabilitation service on Patient Level Costing of burn rehabilitation.

2010 - Feb - Database design day for burns service users to scope work to date.

2010 - Feb - Inaugural meeting of the National Network for Burn Care (NNBC) replacing the larger National Burn Care Group (NBCG 2003-2009).

2009 - Apr - Presentation to the British Burn Association (BBA) meeting in Belfast of the major design additions to the iBID software, including: real time error checking and data validation to improve data quality / fundamental re-design of the user interface with the ability to create an entire care record covering multiple admissions and outpatient attendances / visual diary system to present care pathway and events / incorporation of Patient Level Costing (PLC) data requirement.

2007 - Feb - Cost of Burn Care study Day in Manchester with BBA, PbR team, NHS.IC and commissioners of specialised health services representation. Conclusion that current Health Resource Groupings (HRG) cannot accurately reflect burn care costs.

2006 - Dec - Initial training and use of MapInfo software to allow the use of GIS methodology to present burn injury information.

2005 - Sep - Presentation to the European Burns Association (EBA) meeting about the initiation of the data collection.

2005 - Jun - First reports produced and circulated to contributing burn services.

2005 - Apr - Special Interest Group meeting at the BBA meeting in Dublin to introduce the database software and the plans for analysis and reporting. This was followed by site initiation on 18 sites and an agreement to collect 2yrs of retrospective activity data allowing analysis from Jan 2003.
